The power of instruction and distinctiveness
Seldom one hears preachers having the courage to preach about the Rechabites in this light. The considerations given, convict parent’s neglect when preserving a seed for God.
Being our days, days of conformity to worldly standards, carelessness and compromise, we are afraid to pursue distinctiveness within our families, and the young growing up in the church. Yet, there is a positive outcome for those daring to take time, and exercise active authority within their households. The results come described in Isaiah 61:9, ‘And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.’ Very relevant.
