In seminary my last assignment for mh Exposition class was Nehemiah 8:1-6. I wanted to do the same sermon for my church but when I started my study, I realized that if I’m preaching on Nehemiah, I need to preach on Ezra also cause it all connected. Then after getting into Ezra, I realized I needed to preach on Haggai and Zechariah. All four books are so intertwined so I could not leave out one of them. Brother Horan does an exceptional job of taking what happened 2,500 years ago to the church today because he sees the same importance and implications I saw also in Zechariah. He most definitely brought Glory to God in his series.

Rev Davis has a gift for taking a seemingly mundane passage (this one is about Abraham buying Sarah's tomb) and showing us what God is teaching through the text. He makes the point that ALL of the Bible is profitable, and demonstrates that fact in this sermon. More than just a narrative in mourning, or a detailed real estate negotiation, Genesis 23 is a beautiful lesson about Yahweh's faithfulness.
