This message is from over a decade ago but it so relevant to this year of 2025. Making people feel good by lying to them is always wrong. Truth may hurt sometimes but it also causes change. It sets you free.

The absolute truth. Comfort doctrines that are not the truth but make people feel good have no place in the church. People need the total truth about sin and the need to change. Hell is forever.

A magnificent sermon about the great wrong that is done when people give false comfort when a sinner is under conviction by the Holy Spirit. So many churches today operate like cruise ships and make comfort the top priority. All over the religious television networks pep talks are given to build up self esteem and cause people to excuse their sin and ignore the Holy Spirit's conviction. Pastor Wenham showed the danger in sympathizing and compromising where sin is concerned. Hell is real and people go there every day and stay forever. Speak the truth!

Thank you Chris for the reproof and remedy of dealing with this sin in the stressed out world we live in. Timely and applicable.

In a world of prosperity Gospels, and twisted notions of "claiming God's promises", this sermon sets forward a truthful Biblical understanding of how believers can face adversity, pain and suffering with sincere faith in God. What makes it all the more real is when one can share these truths from the coal-face, not just as an idealistic spectator looking in from the outside! I think I'll find myself listening to this sermon again ...

This is a very nice, compact history of Israel and the Jews. Gives the main dates and events to give us a nice overview of what happened and is happening to Israel and the Jewish people and how God is continuing to guide His people.

I was challenged by the sermon. I very often get occupied with other things. But I am reminded that I am to consistant feed( I am to read the bible in order that I will understand more about the Lord Jesus Christ and that I will grow day by day.
