This passage (John 17) is so deep that many "simple" aspects are overlooked, including the high emotion in the plea of Jesus: "O Righteous Father" which I only just noticed. Thank you for drawing out so well the relationship between the Son and the Father and its value to us.

One of my favorite sermons Bro. Nathan preached at our annual meeting in September. This truth "Glory to God Alone" truly puts things in their proper perspective.

This sermon emphasizes that we should be following a daily discipleship getting closer to Christ Jesus. God loans us 168 hours each week, and how much of that time do we devote to knowing more about Jesus by prayers, studying the Holy Scriptures, and in out daily behavior that gives Glory to God and give thanks for Jesus Christ's death and Resurrection, and giving us the Holy Spirit. We have so much to be thankful for, especially in such evil days.

Really helpful teaching for a question that many of us have probably struggled with at one time or another. God's sovereignty should lead us to fervent prayer, not stifle prayer. Praise God!
