Love Does Not Envy

Text: 1 Corinthians 13:4b – The apostle Paul characterizes the grace of Christian love, by telling us what love does not do. (v.4> "Love does not envy." Envy is the sinful desire to have what belongs to someone else… or… to try to diminish what they have for the selfish satisfaction of my own proud heart. Envy—is resenting God's goodness to others… while I disregard his peculiar goodness to me… Envy is a spiritual cancer in the soul—if you don't get rid of it—it will kill you!
