Prophecy in Scripture

Throughout the Word of God we find that God has used both men and women to communicate His Word to His people. The prophet of Old Testament times was raised up in times of severe spiritual declension to warn the people of the judgment that would befall them if they continued on the path they had chosen. In the New Testament God used the gift of prophecy to edify the Body of Christ with the truth that they needed to carry them those many years until the cannon of Scripture was complete.
