Christ's Gospel in the Old Testament

When Paul wrote to the church at Rome, he told the Jews among them that salvation is by faith and not by works. They would have been very reluctant to believe something that contradicted what they had been taught for many generations. But Paul accepted the challenge and showed them (and us) that Abraham and David were both saved apart from works and by faith alone.
