The Law Controversy

The Law is good if one uses it lawfully. The Law is not made for the righteous, but the unrighteous ... according to the glorious Gospel. These are Paul's words and they have profound implications for the many controversies that have emerged over the centuries, and particularly in our apostatizing days, concerning the Law of God. Many people who call themselves Christians hate the Law of God. Others, though sincere and well-meaning, nevertheless adopt theological positions that spurn the Law of God. Though they are not themselves antinomian, they unwittingly sow seeds for antinomianism in their own churches or denominations. This sermon will deal with briefly with dispensational theology and also with new covenant theology.
