Christ enters Europe

The missionary journey started with the aim of consolidating the churches recently planted. Paul circumcised Timothy in order to overcome prejudice - an example of self-denial necessary in gospel work. God's guidance came through: Biblical principles; common sense; circumstances; attention fixed on a particular place; and godly advice. That should answer our questions about guidance. Lydia's conversion (like every one) is a mix of human proclamation, Christ's power in giving a new heart, and her faith. Its reality became apparent after her baptism when she identified with God's people and showed them hospitality.
