The Armour of God | The Christian Soldier

Ephesians can be compared to a great sermon which opens by highlighting our Spiritual Wealth in Christ. Having such blessings as the children of God we ought to be careful regarding our Spiritual Walk. We must seek to walk in unity, righteousness, love, guarding our speech, manifesting holiness, discernment, making good use of our time, filled with the Spirit. Paul reminds us that there is a battle going on to stop us grasping or possessing i.e., enjoying the blessings God has given us in Christ, and seeking to hinder us living as we should. The devil wants to deceive us, cause us to fall, rather than glorify the Lord, dishonour His name. Every day we are engaged in Spiritual Warfare. Paul as a prisoner, chained to a Roman soldier, illustrates the spiritual qualities we need to develop if we are to stand. We must put on the whole armour of God, piece by piece and be strong in the Lord.
