Faithfulness While the Wait

Many people know of the promises of God but fail to believe them to the effect that they live by faith in those promises. Such misunderstanding or failure weakens the faith and walk of the believer who would find great courage and encouragement to face temporal troubles if the eternal promises of God were kept in perspective.
Abraham and the saints being recognized in this 'hall of faith' in this letter died with their faith intact as they trusted in the promises made to them and the God of the promises. With the fuller revelation given in the New Testament scriptures it becomes clear that the ultimate fulfillment of God's promises is realized in and through His Son, Jesus Christ.
