Servants as Unto Christ, the Masters the Same

This passage and others in the Bible are often noted as condoning slavery. In reality, in the culture of the day, the Bible is VERY counter-cultural and protective of slaves and women! The emphasis here is consistent with the rest of the Bible: do all as unto the Lord, not as unto men! And, with the Lord there is no favoritism -- slave and master are equally valuable and worthy of respect and love, for the sake of honoring Christ.
