1 Corinthians 5:1-8

Because Christ died for the Church, she must become what she already is!

She must mourn over her sin (1-2)
Recognizing her sin (1)
Forsaking her pride (2)
She must cleanse herself (3-7a)
Judging those responsible for evil (3)
Collectively separating them from the body (4-7a)
She must celebrate her redemption (7b-8)
Remembering her Passover Lamb (7b)
Practicing sincerity and trust (8)

Applications

Confess our individual sin.
Confess our sins to one another.
Don't overlook serious sin in others.
Keep sincerity and truth in the forefront of our dealings with each other.
Keep our focus upon Christ crucified.
