Jesus Shepherds and Angels

For 400 years, there was no Prophet. This was the time between the Old and New testaments.
Shepherds were an important theme in the Old Testament. David was a shepherd, Jesus is the Good Shepherd, the Psalms are full of references to shepherds. Angels appeared to shepherds to tell them of the good news of the birth of the Christ, in a manger, in swaddling clothes. this meant a great deal to these shepherds.
